#287 “Aleister Crowley, Pt 4: Sex, Drugs & Downfalls.”

Over the last week or so, we’ve seen several other podcasts stand in solidarity in support of the current writers strikes, and not that Shawn or Preston make any money when writing the show (nor do we think we are remotely as talented as the writers currently on strike, come on, this is just a hobby for us), but we want to support that as well. So, we aren’t releasing any original content that we have written this week, and instead, wanted to share an article that was written about Aleister Crowley, by David Dalton, that was published in HIGH TIMES MAGAZINE from July 1978, on the 145th birthday of Aleister Crowley, and then republished on October 12, 2020. We wanted to end our dive into Crowley by touching on his drug addiction and ultimate spiral into oblivion, and this article does a fantastic job of exploring the topic, so instead of chopping it up into our own words, we wanted to share the original article, written by David Dalton. So, please sit back and enjoy a very well written account of Crowley’s favorite hobby, outside of sex magic. You can also find a link to the original article in our show notes. Cheers and enjoy the show!

(You can also catch the video of this episode over on our YouTube channel, recorded live and uncut!)
